The New MMR
Two years ago we introduced My Morning Routine. Since then we’ve been lucky enough to publish 93 morning routines from inspiring individuals living all over the world.
Words cannot express how thankful we are to everyone who’s been kind enough to share the most intimate details of their mornings with us. Needless to say; we couldn’t have done it without you!
With that said, this is only the beginning.
Over the past few months we’ve invested many hours into thinking about how you can better experience our site. With the new MMR, we’ve laid the foundation for many new features to come.
Beautiful Browsing
Browsing our morning routines has never been easier.
When you click on our routines tab you can select any of seven categories to browse, such as early risers or parents, or use our smart search box to find routines by people living in a certain country or city, or even to bring up a specific person.
And as you’ll see, we now have far bigger photos of each of our participants, making browsing our entire archive of routines (if you’re feeling particularly brave) a technicolour joy!
Improved UX
Our main design goal for the new MMR was to bring a greater sense of personality to the site while vastly improving your user experience when browsing between our routines.
The new site looks great on all of your devices, whether you’re reading this on your laptop, tablet, or phone, as it perfectly optimises its layout for your screen size.
They’re the obvious improvements, but there’s also a whole new world under our hood. The new MMR runs database-less from servers all over the world — meaning the site is always fast (and always up) whether there are 1,000 or 10,000 people reading a particular routine at once.
For the developers out there, we use Jekyll and Amazon Web Services.
We hope you enjoy browsing around the new MMR as much as we do. If you notice a bug, or have a suggestion for how we can make the site even better, please get in touch via Twitter any time.
Good morning, and happy browsing!

PS. In celebration of the launch of the new MMR we’re giving away three copies of Mason Currey’s Daily Rituals on Kindle.
If you enjoy our site, you’re going to love Mason’s book in which he details the daily routines of everybody from Pablo Picasso to Maya Angelou. To be in with a chance of winning a copy, enter here.
